Four-Way Test Speech Contest

From the earliest days, Rotary has been concerned with promoting high ethical standards.   One of the world’s most widely quoted statements is Rotary’s 4-Way Test, which was created in 1932 by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor. Every year Rotary districts around the world sponsor high school 4-Way Test contests.

The purpose of the speech is to persuade others while applying the principles of the Rotary 4-Way Test. The goal is for students to make the world a better place, to practice the virtues of critical thinking and ethical decision making, to develop public speaking and leadership skills to positively influence and inspire others regarding an issue that they find passionate.

Come one, come all! Here at SRG we want to start the spring season off with a bang!

This event will be here at River Front Park where a variety of tasks will be completed including interpretive sign improvement, pollinator garden weeding, tree planting, and general trail and park improvements. Because of the importance of the park to the area's ecology, and the SRT in Pottstown we hope to bluster the loop in River Front Park as much as we can! 

Food will be provided and will act as a break from work and will be served around noon. Food will include water as a beverage, and various types of pizza severed under the pavilion at the park. We also ask that if individuals are able to bring their own basic hand tools such as flat shovels, wheelbarrows, spade shovels, etc. to the event that you please do. SRG will be able to provide some of the necessary tools however due to the size of the event it may be that some will be left without proper tools for the tasks assigned. 

Everyone who intends to participate in the event will be required to fill out waiver required before the day of the event. Waivers will be provided the day of the event.
